Tai Chi Martial Arts History Museum

“Water takes the form of whatever container it it put in.
Water is fluid, soft and yielding.
But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield.”
-Tao Te Ching

If you haven’t yet had a chance to witness Chris in his flow, now is your opportunity!

Recently were invited to the Martial Arts History Museum for an event aimed at spreading love and awareness for the Asian community and eastern arts.

Before the Q&A, Chris demonstrated a Tai Chi flow in the form of Chen Family Tai Ji – Lao Jia, which translates to “old frame form.”

This beautiful and graceful series of movements combines both hard and soft form while maintaining Wu Ji posture.

As you watch this elegant flow, what is hard to imagine is that each posture is actually a fighting application.

Once one of the top ten competitors in the US, Chris explains how this art builds upon one’s own awareness of self when in competition and how this translates to a connection to the other.

“By listening to your own body, one can develop the capacity to listen to their opponent…” In competition, it is this deep, meditative awareness that allows one to respond in flow.

Yet, the benefits of Tai Chi go well beyond this aspect.

In this video, Chris also shares his experience and knowledge of this ancient fighting art and its benefits, including how developing this deep internal awareness contributes to the reduction of inflammation and prevention of disease within the body.

Join us to experience the grace and power behind the movements of this ancient flow…and stay tuned for the Q&A, so you can learn more about the foundations of the practice and its benefits!

Be well and Qi ya later,
-Chris and Parisa
