This week we get back to the DIY Home Remedies series to discuss dizziness and vertigo. What is the difference you ask?
Dizziness is a general feeling of being off-balance, whereas vertigo is the feeling that you or your surroundings are moving or spinning.
Both dizziness and vertigo can affect your balance and movement, which can cause serious side affects like chronic vomiting or inability to get out of bed and function.
When vertigo becomes constant, it can be diagnosed as Menier’s disease, which affects millions of people around the world.
Meanwhile, in Western Medicine, there is no known cure.
In Chinese Medicine, however, we look at a Kidney and/or Liver imbalance as the root cause for Menier’s disease.
Dizziness can be due to multiple organ imbalances and could be a warning sign that there is something wrong with the heart or other organ systems. In this case, I recommend contacting your primary health care provider ASAP.
