Why Is Self-Care Important?
Self-care is the basis of having a resource within that is not (yet) depleted, so that you can be grounded in self-awareness and in self-actualization.
This week, we’re joined by mentor, colleague and friend, Kyczy Hawk, who is a yogi and author specializing in 12-step recovery.
Self-care is one of those things that, when done regularly, has profound benefits.
Kyczy explains that some of us share beyond our reserves until the point where we are at complete depletion…yet, by first caring for ourselves, we can share our resources, energy, and compassion with others with full authenticity.
So, why don’t we practice more of it?
What is the greatest challenge in developing healthy habits of self-care?
According to Kyczy (and I think we all know from experience), we only know that we need it at the point beyond which we are able to provide it to ourselves.
