“The world is the abode of desires and fears. You cannot find peace in it. For peace you must go beyond the world.”
– Nisargadatta Maharaj, renowned sage of the non-dual advaita wisdom path
Change is scary for me.
How can my mind be peaceful (and be quiet for just one sec!) when I don’t know what’s going to happen next? How can I possibly feel safe, secure and comfortable when I look out into the world and see the good, the bad and the ugly?
After years of monkey mind madness and panic about the state of the world – I’ve stumbled into some fundamental truths about peace.
In simplest terms, you can’t go to pieces every time peace and joy elude you.
We absolutely CAN learn to face our fears while remaining rooted in peace, balance and harmony. How? This summer, and always, remember the letter S.
Stillness: Take time to stop and just be.(You are a be-ing not a do-ing.)
Silence: In silence you gain intuition and hear the voice of Nature.
Serenity: Notice the beauty that around and within you.
So! The lease for our space in Willow Glen expired last month. Originally we planned to renew the clinic lease and let the studio space go. The universe loves rock-solid plans! Instead, based on your overwhelming support and outcry, Chris and I have decided to keep both our clinic and studio doors open. We knew you loved us but wow… did you ever holler and roar at the thought of us going buh-bye! Thank you for showing us the love.
Speaking of love, we are still going on sabbatical until the beginning of September. We aim to get our groove back on and access all our Stillness, Silence and Serenity Shelton Superpowers! We’re going back to the drawing board, reviewing our business model, and coming back this fall rested and ready to roll. Our vision is to be THE hub for people seeking support as they eradicate stress, get healthy and fit, and build lives free of physical and emotional pain. You want in? Good. ‘Cause you’re invited and forever welcome in our world.
As we turn inward this summer, I ask myself – and you – one question. “What can I do right now, in this moment, to bring peace to my life?”
Hint: breathe in, breathe out. Repeat.
Thank you for all your love and support – you mean the world to us. You are the piece that brings us so much peace.
Love & Gratitude,
-Chris & Parisa Shelton
